Double Reed Day
Coordinated by faculty members Fredric T. Cohen (oboe) and Stephen Walt (bassoon), this workshop is intended for high school or college double reed players, teachers, and adults.
Double Reed Day includes masterclasses, clinics, and performances by UMass faculty and guest artists. There will also be opportunities to try different instruments and reed-making tools from vendors.
Guest clinicians include Robert Williams (principal bassoon, Detroit Symphony Orchestra) and master reedmakers Stuart Dunkel (oboe) and Frank Wangler (bassoon).
