Class of 2010 Revolving Green Fund

The Class of 2010 Revolving Green Fund will help finance innumerable energy conservation and reduction initiatives across campus.

The basic structure of the Revolving Green Fund will be as follows: Initially, a Green Fund will be created with seed money, and then a committee of students, staff and faculty will be selected to be the governing body that will decide what initiatives and projects will be funded by the Green Fund.

The first projects funded through the Green Fund need to be energy conservation and reduction projects that will yield tangible cost savings. A part of the saving that is incurred is then rolled back into the Green Fund. This saving continues to be rolled back into the Fund until the initial money that was given to the project has been paid back plus interest. This way, with each project that is completed, the Fund continues to grow!

The Class of 2010 Revolving Green Fund will be creating a legacy that will live on throughout the years and that will continue to provide funding for important environmental projects for years to come.

I, […], have made a pledge in your honor to the UMass Amherst Senior Campaign. This contribution was made to acknowledge the difference you have made in my life during my successful journey through a rigorous undergraduate program.

Why Contribute?

Say "Thanks!" for your experiences and opportunities. Leave a lasting legacy, give something back, and help make a difference in the lives of future UMass Amherst students.

Enhance the value of your diploma. Your degree becomes more competitive as UMass Amherst grows stronger.

Support the immediate needs of the campus. Contributions from Seniors are allocated to projects such as the Isle of View renovation.

Increase our funding from corporations and foundations. These groups value the number of private donors, not only the amount of their contributions, when considering grants. Every contribution really counts.

It costs approximately $30,000 to educate each student on campus. Whether you pay in-state or out-of-state tuition, your education has been subsidized by alumni support.
