Welcome To The Go Dai Ken Homepage

The concept of Kendo is to discipline the human character through the application of the principles of the katana. The purpose of practicing Kendo is: To mold the mind and body, to cultivate a vigorous spirit, And through correct and rigid training, to strive for improvement in the art of Kendo; to hold in esteem human courtesy and honor, to treat others with sincerity, and to forever pursue the cultivation of oneself. Thus, one will be able to love his country and society, to contribute to the development of culture, and to promote peace and prosperity among all people.

Club News and Reminders

Monday November 2, 2009

(1)We have succesfully secured a Monday practice time slot. Monday practices, from 4pm to 6pm in our regular room, begin today! As always, try to be there ten minutes before 4 o'clock. We do realize, though, that it is Monday, so you may be somewhat late with classes, but please let us know if you'll be absent or significantly late.

(2)We were planning to have a big club party this Friday, but it turns out we can't use the venue we thought. If any member or friend of the club has an apartment on or off campus with enough space (or a large dorm room with dormmates to help sign people in) and could host our party, please let me know.

OUR WEBSITE IS BACK UP!!!! After a LONG five years, we have succeeded in updating our website. We apologize to those who were misguided by old information in the time it went without being updated. Currently, for the Fall 2009 semester, we are practicing Fridays from 4pm to 7pm in Boyden Rm. 080 The Aerobics Studio, in the basement of the Boyden gym building. All members must show up five but preferrably ten minutes before four to get ready. We should be being granted Wednesday and possibly Monday practice hours too, but we are waiting on the facility office to approve our applications, and matters have been complicated this year by the Gym facilities' move to the new recreation center.
