Regional & State Associations

As Massachusetts' flagship public university, UMass Amherst strives to propel economic and social development throughout the Commonwealth. To this end, RL&D works closely with industry and technology associations that share this common goal.

 

 

 

Regional Technology Corporation -- The mission of the Regional Technology Corporation ("RTC") is to be the market driven catalyst for growth and development of technology-based industries in Western Massachusetts and the Knowledge Corridor. In affiliation with the Western Massachusetts Economic Development Council, the RTC serves to coordinate and manage the region's technology economic development strategy as it relates to business development, attraction and creation.

RTC Networks:

Bio Economic Technology Alliance -- BETA is a network of companies and organizations in the Hartford-Springfield region dedicated to advancing biomedical-related business growth.

Technology Enterprise Council -- TEC is a regional, industry-led organization working hand-in-hand with academia and other non-profit organizations to advance the growth and success of companies driven by information and communications technologies.

Materials and Manufacturing Technology Network -- MMTN brings together businesses that use and produce plastics, coatings, adhesives and other polymer substances. Members include paper, label, film and plastics companies as well as their manufacturing process partners, suppliers and customers.

Hidden Tech -- is a rapidly growing group of 800-plus small, mainly home-based companies scattered throughout the Pioneer Valley in Western Mass. Hidden-Tech professionals offer a variety of services to the university research community.

 

Massachusetts Biotechnology Council -- MBC represents over 400 Massachusetts companies, academic institutions and service organizations involved in biotechnology and healthcare.

 

Massachusetts Innovation and Technology Exhange -- MITX is a catalyst for stimulating, fueling and enabling new opportunities for today's technology professionals. MITX serves more than 2,500 members from multiple vertical industries including financial services, healthcare, information technology, interactive media, and nanotechnology.

 

Massachusetts Leadership in Technology Council -- MassLeaders is the premier association for providers and users of innovative technologies in the region. Our mission is to foster entrepreneurship and promote the success of companies that develop and deploy technology across industry sectors.

 

Massachusetts Medical Device Innovation Consortium (MassMEDIC) -- MassMEDIC has over 300 members - manufacturers, product developers, suppliers, research institutions and academic health centers - from the state's vibrant medical technology sector.
