Student awarded Gilman International Scholarship to Egypt

Nathaniel Kahler, a sophomore from Mendon, has received a Gilman International Scholarship to study in Egypt during the 2008-09 academic year.

Kahler will spend the year at the American University of Cairo studying Arabic language and cultures.

The Gilman International Scholarship awards up to $5,000 per year and encourages study in non-traditional locations, especially those outside of Western Europe and Australia. The goal of the Gilman Scholarship Program is to support students who face significant financial challenges in paying for a study abroad experience.

The International Programs Office advises and certifies applications for the Gilman International Scholarship.

July 10, 2008.
