Neighbor Concerns

The Neighbor Concerns subcommittee focuses on quality-of-life issues affecting students and the community. Groups are at work on projects including:

Off-Campus Education and Outreach
Guiding students on their rights and responsibilities in the community. Topics include neighborhood standards; tips for being a good neighbor; responsible party-giving; and an overview of laws and ordinances.
Neighborhood Relations
Working to strengthen relationships between students and the community in neighborhoods close to campus.
Town Bylaws
Reviewing ordinances in surrounding towns, researching best practices of other college towns, and making recommendations for changes.
Neighborhood Safety
Examining ways to improve safety for residents, students, pedestrians and motorists. The group examines traffic, intersections, lighting, public transportation and other issues.
