Neighbor Concerns
The Neighbor Concerns subcommittee focuses on quality-of-life issues affecting students and the community. Groups are at work on projects including:
- Off-Campus Education and Outreach
- Guiding students on their rights and responsibilities in the community. Topics include neighborhood standards; tips for being a good neighbor; responsible party-giving; and an overview of laws and ordinances.
- Neighborhood Relations
- Working to strengthen relationships between students and the community in neighborhoods close to campus.
- Town Bylaws
- Reviewing ordinances in surrounding towns, researching best practices of other college towns, and making recommendations for changes.
- Neighborhood Safety
- Examining ways to improve safety for residents, students, pedestrians and motorists. The group examines traffic, intersections, lighting, public transportation and other issues.
